Warm and heady with a hint of vanilla, this wine is definitely worth saving for your special occasions.

You'll find this intensely dark red wine has a fantastically confident bouquet with notes of vanilla, caramel, liquorice followed by blackberry with the slightest hint of leather. The palate is wonderfully weighty, altogether round with a sweet, complex touch of woody undertones. Sturdy and luscious, this wine would marry beautifully with rib of beef and potatoes baked in the ashes of an open fire. Pour it into a carafe first for maximum flavour.

  • Soil: Flinty clay
  • Grape variety: Côt (or Malbec) 100%
  • Best served at 16°C.
  • Laying down potential: between 5 and 10 years

Mechanical harvesting using a de-stemmer.
Pre-fermentation cold maceration (or cold soak) for four days to extract the aromas.
Placed in stainless steel vats for alcoholic fermentation at 25°C for six days
Pressing and blending of the first press juice with the free-run juice.
Malolactic fermentation at 20°.
Wine is cold-stabilised to encourage tartrate crystals to precipitate out.
Aged in casks for 12 months and bottled after Kieselguhr filtration.
